The time has again come for us to welcome you
all for the 3rd tutorial in Aesthetic plastic surgery to be held
at the Bombay Hospital Institute of Medical Sciences, Mumbai from
January 10th to 13th , 2008.
Since the ISAPS instructional course 2004 took
place at Jaipur, there has been an ardent desire amongst our fraternity
to update and adept our surgical skills in the field of aesthetic
surgery. This is compounded by the lifestyle demands dictating
our society, which is playing a big role in promoting this growing
need to hone our skills in this field.
Like each year, this year too we are fortunate
to have Prof. Thomas Biggs as our Course Director. Helping him
will be a team of International Faculty each of whom is a master
in his own field. We will also have several experts from home
who will be sharing their experiences to help the budding aesthetic
surgeon to acclimatize his desire and pursue learning in a graded
and systematic way. We will be having a dedicated day to live
surgeries and three days of didactic lectures, interactive videos
and panels. Also efforts are being made to undertake Web Casting
of the entire Tutorials. There may be a Hands on Instructional
Course on Endoscopic Aesthetic Surgery on 14th January 08.
This year we propose to conduct specialized and
focused Masters’ classes within the tutorial for a period
of 1 hour each with the main aim of dissecting and understanding
the said subject thread bare. Each of these classes will be conducted
by an International Faculty, an expert in that particular field.
Besides these we will be conducting panel discussions every day
with a team of expert panelists on a given topic. There will also
be a session on “how I do it” showing videos of an
operative procedure with interactive discussions. There will be
a special session on complications in plastic surgery and a course
specially designed for our residents on the art of writing, publishing
and presenting papers and photography and maintaining records.
Without much ado, it would be suffice to say
that this year too we will strive to make this tutorial a memorable
learning experience.
